Howard and Wendy of Giakonda IT returned to Siavonga in July to continue the computer project they started in January.
They installed two additional solar panels at Bbakasa School and upgraded the solar setup there and at Kabbila School.
They supplied Raspberry Pi computers to the 9 schools in the British Council Connecting Classrooms Project. Computers were networked together where possible to share resources more efficiently. They also held four computer training days for teachers to help them address the Zambian ICT curriculum.
Giakonda IT have identified an SNG volunteer, Bridget Muyuni, whom they have begun training in the skills of an IT technician. She is already competent at preparing network cables, setting up wireless routers and running various antivirus and malware checks.
